We have been closely monitoring the evolving situation on the Coronavirus outbreak and listening to the concerns of many of our volunteers and students. In an abundance of caution, Literacy Connections programs and activities will be canceled on March 16-20, 2020. At the end of next week, we will reassess the situation and may extend the cancellation another week. A notification will be sent to everyone alerting of any further cancellations. Again, this decision is made in an abundance of caution, to ensure proper distancing is made to prevent any possible contagion.
Our priority is the safety and well-being of our staff, volunteers and students. Please practice all safety guidelines and stay healthy. Please also stay in touch with your coordinator. Literacy Connections staff will be available via email and telephone and will keep you posted of any updates and changes.
Again, all programs and activities are canceled next week including one-on-one tutoring sessions, drop-in centers and other agency events. We will notify you next week of any extended cancellations. Thank you for your service, patience, and contribution to the success of Literacy Connections. We are all in this together and will get through it.
