Find out what volunteering for Literacy Connections is all about! We’ll give you an overview of our history, the issue of illiteracy, and points to remember when working with adults who cannot read. Our most pressing current volunteer needs are tutors (to work one-on-one with basic readers or English language learners) and small-group teachers (for English language learners). You don’t have to be a teacher already to volunteer – we will provide training. And there are other ways to help us promote literacy if teaching isn’t your thing. Please join us in helping people to read, write, and reach their potential! Orientation is required for anyone wanting to work with students.
